Despite tougher measures and the challenges of new GCSEs, the Dukeries Academy are celebrating another set of excellent results that look set to once again break national averages.
A record number of students will leave the academy with Grade 4 passes in both English and Maths. 60% of students achieved a good pass in Maths, with 75% of students achieving the same in English.
All subjects rose to the demands of the new GCSEs; special congratulations go to those subjects that achieved over 80% at B grade equivalent or above: History, Music, Engineering, Sports Studies, and Health and Social Care.
We are also celebrating outstanding results for Y10 students who for the first time ever completed their GCSE English Literature examinations a year early. 20% of students achieved a Grade 8 or higher, 35% of students achieved a Grade 7 (A grade equivalent or higher), with 100% achieving a good pass.
"I am extremely proud of the exceptional performance of our students and despite the difficult changes and challenges posed by the new GCSEs our results have continued to improve. We are fortunate to have such supportive parents who work in close collaboration with the academy, in order to secure the best possible"
