At present, there are no plans to close The Dukeries Academy. However, in the event of closure, a text will be sent to all parents and the website will be used to keep parents up to date. Please ensure your contact details are up to date by informing us of any recent changes in numbers. Email: office@dukeries.attrust.org.uk

Based on scientific advice the UK Chief Medical Officers are advising anyone who has travelled to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and is experiencing cough or fever or shortness of breath, to stay indoors and call NHS 111, even if symptoms are mild.

As schools, we must ensure we continue to take a measured response to this situation. One of the most important things we can do is to continue to encourage good hygiene and take the following measures:

Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
